About Me

Workshops

I am Sandra Harlow, the owner of Harlow's Sewing Studio. I was influenced by my mom and grandmother who sewed for themselves as well as for churches, neighbors, relatives, and businesses for decades. Although they didn't have any formal training, they were very knowledgeable of their craft. I would love to influence kids to explore th

After I retired as an engineer, I decided to enter the educational field part- time and continue my love for sewing and creating. I've been sewing and creating since around the age of 5. I am a licensed Kids Can Program seamstress and designer. I'm also an experienced seamstress and creative, who loves to share my knowledgeable skills and expertise with others.

Workshops

The Beginner Level 1 workshops will be in a small classroom setting of 4 students in order to preserve the quality of individual experiences. The Kids Can Sew Curriculum will be used for all Beginning Level 1 classes. The program is recognized as the #1 sewing program for kids and teens learning to sew. The program consists of projects

Intermediate classes are offered as well. The Beginner Level 1 session is preferred for the Intermediate class. The Kids Can Sew Curriculum will not be used for these classes, but will be an advancement to the next level of sewing.

The Specialty classes are offered. These are fun and creative classes every child will enjoy. Beginner Level 1 Sewing Session is recommended, but not required. Check out the different specialty classes offered below.

Spring Break Sessions Now Open! April 7th - 10th

Kids will get a foundation of sewing skills. If a child is starting from scratch, no problem.

During this 4 day session, kids will learn sewing skills as well as work on a variety of art and design projects Projects will include painting, crocheting, embroidery and much more. There will be a 20% discount for siblings signing up for Spring Break Classes. Each session is limited to 4 students, so don't wait. Sign up today! All supplies will be provided.

Let's Make Head Gear - The bucket hat will be a fun project to construct. Also, students will enjoy crafting their own headband and/or scrunchie during these 3 sessions. Refund Policy

All payments are due on or before the first day of class. A full refund will be granted only if a class participant cancels within 48 hours of the class beginning or if class is cancelled by the instructor. Otherwise, we do not offer refunds. All payments are final. Your spot is reserved for the class you selected for your child upon payment. Make-up classes services will be an option after notifying instructor in a timely manner. There will be a few make-up dates offered to ensure that your child learns the skills missed in regular class in order to keep them on track with the projects covered from week to week. Contact us for more information.

Class Policies

All necessary forms must be completed and signed prior to the start of each lesson. Forms will be provided upon registration. When arriving at Harlow's Sewing Studio, the parent/guardian dropping off the child, must escort the child into the building and ensure that the instructor is aware of their presence. Students are to be picked up immediately after class ends in order for the instructor to prepare for the next class. Shoes are always required in the classroom. Please no flip-flops. There is no prior experience required for the Beginner Level 1 class; but it is recommended the Beginner Level 1 sessions are taken before the Intermediate class and the Specialty classes. Optional homework assignments will be given if chosen. Masks are not required, but available if needed. No food or drinks are allowed in the studio.

Although changes are not anticipated, policies may be changed and/or updated at any time.
